Why This Site Exists
I remember the exact morning I built SeekBlessings.com.
It was a Thursday in November 2014. I was sitting at my kitchen table before sunrise with a cup of coffee that had gone cold. I was going through one of the hardest seasons of my life. I opened my Bible but I could not find the words I needed. I wanted someone to speak a blessing over me. Something short. Something honest. Something that would get me through that one morning.
So I searched online. What I found were lists. Long lists of quotes pasted together with no warmth and no care. Nobody had prayed them first. They were just words on a screen.
That morning I decided to build something different. A place where every blessing was chosen by a real person, for a real reason.
James Everly, FounderMatthew 5:3 says that those who know their need for God are blessed. SeekBlessings.com was built for those people. The ones who are honest about their need and looking for words that meet them in it.
I grew up in a home where my parents read from the King James Bible every morning before school. My father recited Numbers 6:24 to 26 before every family road trip. My mother kept a prayer journal she filled every single night. That upbringing shaped everything I write today.

Every Blessing Goes Through Four Steps
No content goes live on SeekBlessings.com without passing all four of these steps. This is the standard every piece is held to.
Write or Find It
James writes the blessing from scratch in his morning journal, or finds it in a trusted devotional tradition, Bible commentary, or a community prayer group he participates in regularly.
Sit with It for One Full Day
Nothing goes live the same day it is written. It needs time to settle. If it still feels true the next morning, it moves forward. If something feels off, it gets rewritten or dropped.
Check Every Scripture Reference
Any verse or biblical reference is checked against both the King James Version and the New International Version. The reference must be accurate before it is published.
Pray It Before Publishing
This step does not get skipped. If James would not pray it himself, it does not go on SeekBlessings.com. No exceptions.
